Inevitable Music is a collection of sound pieces based on the wall drawings of Sol Lewitt. Each piece is a sonic translation of a wall drawing, using the instructions for the drawing or the drawing itself as a musical score.
Inevitable Music #4 is based on wall drawings #47 #85 #422.
Lewitt gives the following instructions for the drawings:
#47: “A wall divided into fifteen equal parts, each with a different line direction, and all combinations.”

#85: “A wall is divided into four horizontal parts. In the top row are 4 equal divisions, each with lines in a different direction. In the second row, six double combinations; in the third row, four triple combinations, in the bottom row, all four combinations superimposed.”
